Paper Smooches SPARKS Hello Card

So it's been over a year since I blogged.  Not that I haven't had anything to say, I just haven't had the time or motivation to sit down and write anything.  We have been chugging along enjoying life, and I have been focusing on building up my craft room.  It's  my happy place, and Deputy D is totally supportive about letting me go in there and craft as long as I want to.

Deputy D and I were talking about New Year's resolutions, and how I never, ever keep them.  Without fail, I have forgotten them by February or March.

So instead of making resolutions this year, I am issuing myself a challenge.  We'll see how this goes.  Been a year since I blogged so obviously sometimes I have trouble sticking to things.

The past year, I have tried my hand at decoupage, vinyl application, rhinestones, and heat transfer vinyl.  I just recently got into card-making and stamping.  So my challenge to myself is this: I want to make one card every day in 2015.

Before you keel over in laughter, let me point out that we have decided to turn off the cable for a while and focus on things besides television and that some cards only take a few minutes to put together.  So I might have a chance at this.

Anyway, as I have been researching card-making, I have come across some amazing companies that I am sad I am just now learning about.  One of them is Paper Smooches.  I also discovered that they have Paper Smooches SPARKS projects with themes, so I decided to go ahead and make a card and submit it, since I received one of their adorable dies this weekend.  It was an anything goes challenge, and here is what I came up with:

For this card, I stamped Impression Obsession's Dotted Arglye background stamp in Simon Says Stamp's white pigment ink on kraft cardstock from Hobby Lobby.  I cut out the "hello" from the Silhouette Online Store (Design #60752) on orange cardstock and then heat embossed it with Ranger Enchanted Gold.  I cut out the glasses with the Glasses Dies from Paper Smooches and cut out glitter paper hearts for the eyes.  I heat embossed the glasses with Ranger Enchanted Gold and Black Sparkle and covered them with Glossy Accents.  I adhered the glasses and sentiment to the kraft cardstock and then adhered that down to a white card base.

I can't wait to order the matching stamp set  and make more fun cards!

Please be sure and check out Paper Smooches at http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/ and keep checking back here to see if I stick to my challenge!
